We were honored to have Mark Spencer visit Cal Poly on March 29, 2016. Mark is the Vice President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Western District, and a Principal at W-Trans in Oakland, California. Mark was a guest speaker for CE 527 Sustainable Mobility, where he gave two presentations: "ADA Standards – Teaching Engineers to Go Beyond the Manuals" and "A Case Study of How Public Involvement Shaped Parking Strategy in Seaside," followed by dinner at Firestone. We were very happy to hear about all of the exciting things happening with ITE and we also hope his daughter will select Cal Poly when the time comes!
