The TRB Annual Meeting was held in Washington, D.C. January 13-17, 2013. More than 30 PSU students and faculty participated
actively in the meeting. A highlight was the opportunity to visit the U.S. DOT with a group of our students, where the students learned a lot about transportation policy as well as federal building security. Also the Committee on Traffic Flow Theory and Characteristics which I chair was active with a wide array of
sessions and meetings. We also awarded the
Greenshields Prize. I also participated in a workshop focusing on ways that state DOTs can strengthen working relationships with universities in the traffic operations/ITS area.
