I participated in my first Board of Governors (BOG) Meeting for the
IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) in Gothenburg Sweden on June 19, 2016. Originally inspired to pursue greater activity in the IEEE ITSS by my friend Dan Dailey, it was particularly sad that he had passed away earlier this year. We tried to pay homage to him and I continue to be amazed at how much he contributed to the society. I learned a lot about the society and its operations during this meeting and look forward to participating in the BOG! I also attended the 2016
Intelligent Vehicles Symposium which was a great event, with a number of fascinating demos held at the Astazero test site in Boras, Sweden. There was also some time to explore Gothenburg by boat and bike, it's a beautiful and historic city.
